BSc Business Administration

The department is focused at producing graduates in business and related disciplines through the provision of basic and advanced skills in the various areas of the discipline and entrepreneurship. Such areas include finance, human resources, production, entrepreneurship, marketing and communication

Philosophy
To broaden students’ competencies in the discipline thereby enhancing their capacities to undertake quality researches where they will apply theoretical postulations in solving practical issues in modern world.

Objectives
The course is designed to provide the students with different skills to succeed in the public sector, private sector and the in non-governmental organisations as well as building their entrepreneurship skills. The curriculum provides the students with quality academic programme and basic business skills required for initial job placement, interpersonal relationship skills, entrepreneurship orientation, leadership skills, and postgraduate studies in any part of the world. Also, the programme equips the students with essential analytical skills needed for recognition, definition and solution of management problems in the real world.

UTME
Candidates must have obtained 5 credits at not more than two sittings in five subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Economics, Accounting, Commerce or Business Methods and other relevant social science and/or commercial subjects at WASSCE, NECO, NABTEC, GCE Ordinary Level, and other recognised O’Level examinations of recognised bodies. At least credit in English Language and Mathematics are compulsory

DIRECT ENTRY
Direct Entry into the 200L, in addition to the O’Level requirements above, candidates must possess passes in 3 WAEC/GCE/Cambridge Advanced Level (A’Level) Certificate with a Minimum of C, which must include Accounting, Mathematics and Economics. Diploma in any management courses such as business administration, accounting, marketing, purchasing and supply, insurance, secretarial administration, office management, banking and finance. JUPEB is also considered.
